Meet the Flight Instructors of Lone Star Flyers:
Bonnie Chadwick,
CFI, CFII, SEL, SES
|
|
 |
Bonnie
Chadwick has demonstrated her love of flying in both land
and sea planes with more than 500 hours flight time. As a
result of nine years of teaching, Bonnie knows that
patience and having specific goals are essential to a
quality learning environment. In addition to her duties
as a flight instructor, she is a math instructor and
geology lab instructor at Brookhaven College in Farmers
Branch, Texas.

Dinu Catona,
CFI, CFII, MEI |
 |
Dinu
is a Gold Seal CFI. He
started flying for fun in 2002 after riding in the front
seat of a Extra 300L at the Aerobatic Experience in Las
Vegas. Dinu earned his ratings at the Armed Forces Aeroclub
in San Diego where he also served on the board of
directors for 2 years before moving to Texas in 2005.
He attended the CFI Academy at American Flyers where
he received his CFII rating. Dinu enjoys flying a lot and
is looking forward to sharing his passion with others. |

David Goldstein,
CFI, CFII, MEI |

David
Goldstein had successful careers as an attorney and as a
technology entrepreneur and CEO before he began to pursue
a life-long dream of becoming a pilot. What started as a
hobby for him has now become another new career, in which
he can share his passion for flying with others. David
received his aviation training both at Addison Airport and
at FlightSafety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida. He is an
active volunteer pilot for
Angel Flight and
Challenge Air,
and a captain in the
Addison Eagles Composite Squadron
of the
Civil Air Patrol (USAF
Auxiliary),
in which he serves as a search and rescue/disaster relief
mission pilot, check pilot, instructor, and cadet
orientation pilot. |

Tom Guyton,
CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP MEL, COML SEL, SES |
 |
Current in many
aircraft and avionics systems, Tom provides ground and
flight instruction for private, instrument, commercial,
multi-engine, flight instructor, and instrument instructor
certificates and ratings. He also does check out flights,
flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks. Tom
began flight training after college. While serving as an
instructor navigator in the Air Force on KC-135 inflight
refueling aircraft, he continued flying general aviation
aircraft. After military service, and a career in the
computer industry, he now devotes full time to flight
instruction. Tom is a member of EAA, AOPA, Grace Flight
and the National Association of Flight Instructors. Each
student has individual needs and Tom especially enjoys
helping each one to achieve his/her flying goals.

Richard Lathrop, CFI,
CFII, MEI |

Richard Lathrop has been flying out of Addison Airport for
almost 37 years and Instructing for 15 of those years.
After a career of mechanical design work and also a short
time with FAA at Ft Worth Center, Richard retired. But he
tries to keep busy Instructing at Addison (or
wherever) and working part time at Love field fueling and
moving planes around.
Richard says: "It is a lot more enjoyable instructing
because you want to, and really having a good time." |

Richard Mandel, CFI, MEI,
SEL, SES, MEL, IGI |

Richard Mandel loves to fly and
teach. Being a flight instructor allows him to do both
and enjoy the rewards of watching students learn to fly.
Richards approach to instructing makes learning enjoyable
for all who fly with him. Richard also teaches and
competes in aerobatics. Whether he's teaching a first
timer the basics of flight or pulling 5 G's with an old
pro, his enthusiasm for flying and teaching is obvious.
Despite his busy teaching schedule Richard still finds
time to hop in a plane and enjoy flying relaxing day trips
to south Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas. In addition
to his various flying ventures Richard, who has a degree
in Mathematics, is employed by the electronic trading
division of a worldwide bank. |

Larry Ratliff, CFI, CFII,
MEI, ATP, SEL, SES, MEL |
 |
Larry Ratliff is one of the most
experienced flight instructors in Texas. Larry has
trained thousands of pilots in a career that spans more
than a decade and includes more than 10,000 hours in many
different aircraft types, including seaplanes. Larry
makes the adventure of learning to fly interesting and
enjoyable.

Torrey Zook,
CFI, CFII, AGI, IGI |

Torrey Zook brings with him to Lone Star Flyers an
enthusiasm for flying that he is eager to pass along to a
new generation of pilots. Having learned to fly over 10
years ago, Torrey has flown and instructed in many
different types of aircraft. As an FAA Certified Flight
Instructor and Advanced Ground Instructor, Torrey is
qualified to teach clients to obtain all the ratings and
experience necessary to become a pilot. He teaches
primary flight training (Private Pilot), the Instrument
Rating and the Commercial License. He can also assist you
if you need to get a flight review or other recurrent
training. |
